One thing I've discovered since taking receipt of a pair of headphones is that the DAC in my onboard sound chip aliases like a mo'fucker. It does not do well with very high frequency pitches. Try the same tones coming out of an iPod and the thing is as pure as the virgin snow. No surprise, because, well, cheapness :(
