Based on my entirely unscientific method of listing the toral number of job ads there are on Totaljobs in each sector: these are the major industries in the UK.

Utilities - 10178
Banking, Insurance, Finance - 8399
IT & Internet - 8341
Retail, Wholesale - 6778
Marketing, Advertising, PR - 5406
Accountancy - 5083
Customer services, Call centres - 5056

What conclusions to draw from these data? I don't know anything about data. I am slightly perturbed by the number of media sales, meaning direct marketers and telesales for broadband and TV providers honestly, advertise as graduate positions.
